I’ve been using this for about a year now, and I have recently just bought a second one. This is the product that converted me to Soap & Glory (I will review some of their other products at a later date). It retails at around £11, which places it at a mid price range. For me, as a student, this is still a treat. It comes with its own little pink sponge though!
I use this like any other exfoliator/mask, but the key step is wetting the cream after applying on the face. Scrubbing turns it a bright blue colour, and the ‘self heat’ starts. The first time I used this the strong minty fragrance made my eyes water – I considered to stop using it but continued when after a few uses I got used to it. Now it’s a really good wake me up in the morning.
Usually I leave it on whilst I’m in the shower (I’m Type A, so it’s near impossible for me to sit around for 10 minutes waiting for it to work its magic. It also says 3-5 minutes on the tube, but I love a deep cleanse so I do it for longer). Wash off after and the results are unparalleled! It makes my skin soooo soft and clean. Follow on with toner and moisturiser and my skin glows for days.
However, it doesn’t come without its problems. The one that I’ve already mentioned is the fragrance. Another is if I leave it on for too long, sometimes there are small blue spots that are very, very difficult to wash off. This is probably my biggest pet peeve for this product.
Overall though, this is a fantastic product! I can be lazy sometimes with my skin care routine, so instead of using cleansers daily I just use cleansing wipes to substitute. This always come to the rescue after a couple of days without using a cleanser or exfoliator and I’d be lost without it.
P.S. Originally I had written a longer post, but a slight mishap when I was clicking away on the page meant I lost everything. So I had to retype everything because oh it didn’t manage to save either.
